We’re the largest financial institution based on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, and we’ve got an opportunity for you. We need a Senior Financial Analyst, so if you’re passionate about financial analysis, data analytics, data models and have experience in financial analysis, IFRS 9 Models, regulatory reporting and have previous working experience in the financial service industry, we’d like to hear from you.

What’s the role?

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you excel at financial analysis and data analytics to provide comprehensive management support to formulate and evaluate organizational decisions. You will create and maintain data models to meet business needs and support ongoing initiatives for the purpose of products sales and growth, data and member analytics and business planning. You will be relied on by all areas of the organization to maintain and build organizational data and have the ability to use the data to benefit the Credit Union. You will also be responsible for supporting the Treasury group by providing support and knowledge and monitoring cash levels, management liquidity investments and borrowings, and monitoring interest and foreign exchange rates while taking into consideration risk management.

What are we looking for?

  • Completion of a Business Degree with a specialization in Finance or Economics, CFA, or professional accounting designation or combination of;
  • Minimum of five (5) years previous experience in the financial service industry;
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access and Outlook;
  • Advanced knowledge of financial markets;
  • Working knowledge of accounting systems, processes and financial statements.

Ideally, you are a flexible, collaborative team player with:

  • Strong knowledge of treasury management principles and practices;
  • Strong knowledge of asset and liability management and liquidity concepts;
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise risk management principles;
  • Strong knowledge of financial analysis/cost accounting;
  • Proven experience in all aspects of financial analysis/cost accounting;
  • Knowledge of Coastal Community's rate structures and products;
  • Ability to manage multiple work assignments with competing demands.
