Member Service Representative , V.P. Credit Union

We are excited to welcome a new member to our team! VPCU is a Closed Bond credit union serving those who serve. Our bond covers all Law Enforcement Communities within BC. We operate in 2 locations with easy transit access to our main office on Victoria Drive where our new team member will work out of.

The Member Service Representative supports the corporate vision of sales & service excellence by greeting members, pro-actively determining & fulfilling their basic needs and creating opportunity to refer/cross-sell additional financial products and services. 


· Foster business development through service excellence and product knowledge; act as point of first contact for members.

· Process member transactions: deposits, withdrawals, Primary/managers’ cheques, and money transfers/wires.  Calculate foreign and domestic exchange, cash cheques, open/close personal accounts, print member cheque orders (mail when required), in branch bill payments and print statements.

· Professionally respond to member emails and Member Direct requests.

· Answer phone inquiries professionally. Directing to appropriate staff member, as required.

· Strictly adhere to security procedures.

· Maintain records of cash holdings in dual and single custody where required within authorized limits.

· Recognize member needs and actively promote lending, deposit services, other products and services. 

Refer more complex requests to respective staff colleagues.

· Actively promote VPCU Marketing Campaigns

· Promote and Process RRSPs, TFSAs, Term Deposits and other investment products VPCU offers through our credit union partners and our investment company partners.

· Handle Collabria Visa inquiries, Collabria Visa bill payments through the Springboard system and promote all Visa card products.

· List and balance daily: outgoing cheques (Central 1: Branch Capture), transactions, and cash to blotter and terminal.

· Maintain cash levels in cash drawer, and operate Automated Cash Dispenser.

· Assist other team members as required.

· File all documentation in appropriate files in a timely manner.

· Other duties as may be assigned from time to time; interchangeable with other MSR duties i.e. ATM/POS/Bill Payments, Lawyer’s account statements, outgoing mail drop.



· High school diploma/Grade 12, preferably with post-secondary courses in business or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


· 1 – 2 year’s job related experience in a service-oriented environment, including experience as a teller or cashier.

· Computer literate, Microsoft Suite knowledge: Outlook, Excel, & Word.

· Willingness to learn new job duties to support the department during times of vacations and other absences.


Hours are Mon to Fri 8am to 4pm
