Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounting Administrator I provides prompt, professional, courteous and accurate services to internal SASCU customers, subsidiaries and vendors. The Accounting Administrator I is responsible for the accurate and timely coordination and processing of accounting procedures and office supply management.

The successful candidate will be accountable to:

  • Establish relationships with internal customers and vendors;
  • Process Accounts Payable including staff expenses and corporate MasterCard;
  • Coordinate daily, weekly and monthly routines with the Assistant Controller;
  • Coordinate Supply Requisition filling, ordering and management of all supply inventory;
  • Complete routine accounting functions such as: MasterCard monitoring, reconciliation and reporting, FX draft balancing and processing and posting entries to the general ledger and RFSNT;
  • Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures related to accounting work;
  • Provide backup support to the Accounting team, including the Accounting Administrator III.

Education, Training and Experience:

Secondary School Diploma, plus 1 year of formal education in the Accounting/Finance field, plus a minimum of 1-3 years related accounting experience.  The successful candidate ideally has experience with accounts payable.

The successful applicant will also demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Have advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
  • Have banking system proficiency and a working knowledge of accounting software such as Great Plains or Purchase Order system is an asset;
  • Strong attention to detail, effective time management and organizational skills;
  • Commitment to continuous learning and self-development;
  • Ability to contribute to an environment of teamwork to collaboratively meet organizational objectives.
