The Accounting Administrator III provides prompt, professional, courteous and accurate services to both internal and external customers. The position provides a high level of service delivery and consistency in the application of accounting standards.
The successful candidate will be accountable to:
Financial Accounting
Undertake advanced level accounting duties and support the accounting team to resolve escalated issues or requests, including:
· Prepare journal entries;
· Review and sign-off on bank reconciliations;
· Calculate quarterly commission for investment planners;
· Prepare or assist with daily cash flow and investments;
· Prepare individual entity and consolidated financial, management and regulatory statements and variances for SASCU Financial Group;
· Participate in the interim and year-end accounting process and procedures including the preparation of working papers and financial statements and reports;
· Participate in annual budget process along with VP Finance, Controller and Assistant Controller;
· Participate in year-end audit process along with Controller and Assistant Controller, including providing information and dealing with external auditors when necessary;
· Creates financial reports and/or deals with external consultant when necessary;
· Provide oversight, review and provide back up to Accounts Payable.
Payroll
· Provide full back-up to the Payroll Administrator;
· Enter and manage timecards, time off and TIL requests forms for Accounting.
Miscellaneous
· Coordinate daily, weekly and monthly routines with the Assistant Controller;
· Completes SASCU Insurance month end close on TAM system;
· Provides assistance, analysis and coordinates activities related to business plan initiatives and ad hoc projects as required.
Education, Training and Experience:
A 2 year business diploma with an emphasis in Accounting and evidence of continued education in the accounting discipline, beyond the business diploma (or equivalent), plus a minimum of 5 years directly related accounting experience.
The successful applicant will also demonstrate the following competencies:
· Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Great Plains, or PO system;
· Banking system proficiency;
· Strong attention to detail, effective time management and organizational skills;
· Commitment to continuous learning and self-development;
· Ability to contribute to an environment of teamwork to collaboratively meet organizational objectives.
