Your Role

As the Branch Manager, you will be a member of the Credit Union’s management team, providing you with the opportunity to have a hands-on role in the success of WLDCU while also playing an active community role representing the Credit Union in the Bella Coola valley. You will provide outstanding leadership to the branch team and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of a growing branch with assets totalling $42 million.

Your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Championing community engagement;
  • Leading, coaching and engaging employees;
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the branch, including deposit and loan portfolios and funds under administration;
  • Providing strategic insights to enhance the Credit Union’s presence in the community;
  • Activating business development opportunities resulting in branch growth; and
  • Ensuring best-quality member service.

What You Bring to the Team

As the successful candidate, you will possess strong leadership, team-building and communication skills. A track record of community involvement is a definite asset. You will have a strong background in financial services including experience in all facets of deposit-taking; superior retail lending skills ideally with some exposure to commercial lending; and the ability to generate and act upon business development opportunities. Previous credit union management experience is preferred. A post-secondary education with a focus in business or a related field is an asset.

The Credit Union is prepared to provide full development support including technical training, coaching, mentoring and on-the-job learning for the right applicant who may lack experience but has the right attitude, focus, and drive.
