About This Opportunity
We are looking for a responsible, motivated individual to join our Corporate Risk & Social Impact Team as, Compliance Manager. This position will be located in either Kenora or Thunder Bay, dependent upon the successful candidate.

Reporting to the SVP, Corporate Risk & Social Impact, the Compliance Manager will be responsible for managing and enhancing the Credit Union’s Risk Management Framework, including:

• Developing strategies and tactics to enhance Copperfin’s risk management framework and culture
• Completing regular testing of the compliance systems and risk controls to determine the effectiveness of the compliance systems
• Overseeing organizational risk reporting
• Conducting strategic/cross functional planning on risk compliance and privacy
• Promoting compliance across all regions and lines of business
• Recommending changes and new or innovative ways for effective business flows and improved processes and procedures
• Ensuring all reports are completed, filed and maintained in accordance with the regulatory requirements

What We’re Looking For
• Completion of a business degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certification in Risk Management considered an asset or willingness to obtain
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the risk management area
• Broad knowledge of oversight areas including operations, credit risk, audit, compliance and risk management
• Strong leadership capabilities and ability to achieve alignment and effect change
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, to include development of required metrics and reporting
• Advanced comprehension of industry practices and risk reporting fundamentals
• Advanced knowledge of risk management practices and methodologies
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for a Credit Union
