The Opportunity: Director of Finance

Reporting to the President and CEO, the Director of Finance is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and participates in the development of the annual strategic business objectives in line with CCS’ long-term goals. Working from the Head Office in New Westminster, the Director will help CCS enhance the capacity and capabilities of the organization, identifying opportunities to improve the overall financial management of CCS (financial reporting, processes and practices, cost-saving measures, etc.). The Director will also attend Board meetings to report on the internal financial statements and respond to Board questions pertaining to CCS’ overall financial situation and other financial matters as required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A professional accounting designation (CPA) and a Bachelor degree (Master’s preferred) in business;
  • Several years of progressively senior experience in a financial or accounting leadership positions in areas of budgeting, policy analysis/development, and financial reporting/analysis; management and supervisory experience required, preferably in a financial services environment;
  • Knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting principles, methods, techniques, and standards including federal and provincial financial regulations;
  • Mid to senior-level management and administrative experience overseeing teams in a multi-location environment across a broad geographic region;
  •  Knowledge of computerized information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications; and
  • Knowledge of software to compile, quantify and illustrate complex financial reports, comparisons, impacts, and/or projections
