Our Business Credit Analyst provides analytical, administrative and member support to the Business Account Managers (BAMs) and the regional leader of Business Banking. Responsibilities include preparing and conducting annual reviews and new credit applications in an accurate and timely manner on business credit relationships within Business Banking. It also includes monitoring and control functions for the regions credit portfolio. The position delivers an exceptional member experience by providing timely, accurate, concise, and quality credit applications within sound risk management framework.

What you’ll do:

· Provides support to the BAMs to ensure “annual credit reviews” on their portfolios are completed in a timely manner, and within acceptable expiry thresholds. This may include completing due diligence and any other requirements of good risk management and account oversight.

· Provides support to the BAMs to ensure “member application for credit” on their portfolios are completed in a timely manner as the credit writer to appropriately analyze and access risk within our risk appetite at PCU. This will include assessment of the business members: business risk, financial risk, and industry risks, and a clear understanding of the key risks and required mitigates to support the application.

· Provides ongoing support to the BAMs to ensure “ongoing monitoring and control” on their portfolios are completed in a timely manner, and within acceptable standards. This may include margining or tracking of financial reporting or covenants.

· Stay informed of regulatory, policy and procedural requirements to ensure compliance and keep well informed of market/economic conditions as it relates to assessing and analyzing credit risks.

· Develops and maintains relationships within the branch network and the local business community

· Develops and maintains relationships with existing business members and identifies sales and service opportunities making qualified referrals to retail banking and wealth management specialists

What you’ll need:

· Knowledge of business lending policies, complex procedures, techniques, documentation requirements;

· Knowledge of statutory guidelines and regulations governing business lending;

· Knowledge of collection processes, including legal requirements;

· Knowledge of banking systems and personal computer applications (Excel, Word, Web);

· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;

· Proven ability to respond to members and public needs in a friendly, professional manner

· Ability to plan, schedule, organized and prioritize work assignments;

· Ability to exercise judgement in risk assessment;

· Ability to analyze financial statements.

· Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Business Administration or Finance

· 3-5 Years previous knowledge and experience in business banking, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
